Daniel Ayomikun Okolie was born on October 3, 2003. He is the second child in a family of three children. Daniel's birth initially appeared normal to his parents, but at the age of 4, he was diagnosed with autism.
During his early years, Daniel was a non-verbal and introverted child. However, with time, he underwent speech, motor skill development, and various emotional control techniques at the Patrick Speech and Language Center. These interventions aimed to help him adapt to the neurotypical world.
Contrary to his parents' expectations, it became evident that Daniel's true passions were art and music. These pursuits consumed his thoughts and surroundings. He was integrated into a regular school to facilitate interaction with others and his environment while pursuing his love for drawing and painting.
This transition marked a new chapter in Daniel's life as he continued to dedicate himself to his artistic talents. He successfully completed his SS3 education in 2022, achieving an above-average grade in the NECO and SSCE exams.
Despite being autistic, Daniel receives unwavering support from his family to nurture his God-given talents. Currently, he attends the Redeemed College of Technology (RECTEM), where his passion for art and painting is honed for better understanding and performance.
Through his art and music, Daniel has found his voice. His journey led him to host his first art exhibition, "DNX Creatoon," in collaboration with the Pure Soul Learning Foundation and Terra Kulture. This exhibition took place from April 2, 2022, which coincided with World Autism Awareness Day, to April 10, 2022. It was a remarkable event that unveiled the hidden potential within this young talent. Daniel received an award in Creativity and Innovation from the Seejoy Foundation International, a non-governmental organization.
His second exhibition, held on April 2, 2023, carried the theme "Embracing Arts through the Eyes of the Differently Abled" at the Terra Kulture Exhibition Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. This event was organized in collaboration with the Puresoul Foundation and showcased a collection of Daniel's best works, including abstracts, animations, life paintings, and nature-inspired creations. His use of colors was nothing short of remarkable.
Daniel's art is a product of his unique imagination, often drawn directly from memory. He possesses an innate ability to convey his thoughts and inspirations through his artwork, drawing from his surroundings and anything that captures his fancy.
Daniel's potential to contribute to the world is immense, given the opportunity to thrive in an environment that is more receptive and accommodating. His hope is to freely exhibit his unlocked potential and be himself, sharing his exceptional talents with the world.
